Home Organization Tip

What does a home organization tip and common sense have to do with making your day? Remarkably enough, these two things linked together, can indeed make your life and the lives of those around you so much more pleasant. How you ask? By simply using my secret tip…

Simplification!

If your daily life is too complicated with material objects and stressful situations, it will destroy your emotional, physical and mental well being. No matter how many books you have read, seminars you have attended or professional hours of therapy you have had, it still comes back on you to recognize what it is that complicates your life and what to do about it. In other words, simplification of your life is not going to happen unless you take responsibility for making your life less complicated.

Perhaps the easiest and fastest place to take responsibility, and simplification of your life, is within your own personal home and personal space. Take the time to think about this for a moment. Your work environment may not be conducive to making personal changes, which could affect the work place itself and your fellow workers. However, the home environment is where you have the most control and can take immediate action, in certain areas, without discussing it with everyone in the household.

One of the easiest ways to help you simplify, is to pick something in your home that only pertains to you. Perhaps you have a closet full of clothes which are smashed together, too big or too small, outdated or just plain worn out. These clothes can really complicate your life, especially when you are pushed for time when trying to get ready for work or play. Now would be the time to put your common sense and a home organization tip into play. Take the time to reorganize the closet, in the way, that will be most beneficial for you.

Reorganization of the closet is a relatively simple thing to do. Simply take the clothes which are worn out and dump them into the trash, recycle as rags or take them to a recycling center. You may be pleasantly surprised to realize how much additional room you created by this one simple step. Next, eliminate the clothing which does not fit or is completely outdated.

Common sense, not wishful thinking, will tell you which of the clothing you will never wear again. A really good thing about this step is that, not only will you free up additional room in your closet, but you may be able to help someone else by donating this clothing to the charitable organizations that maintain thrift stores. Once again you may truly be amazed at the amount of space you have freed up and how quickly you can now find what you are going to wear. What a calming way to start your day.

Obviously, cleaning out your closet is not the ‘panacea’ for life simplification. However, when you take a few small steps, as discussed above, you will feel better about yourself and others around you will sense your feeling of well being. Little steps like this, when applied all over your home gradually, can make a huge difference in your life. Take a step and get started today!
